hypnotising yourself

• Firstly you need to find yourself a place where you can get complete peace of mind and where you can be everyday at the time of your self hypnosis session. Pick a spot where prying eyes won’t follow you or you will not have disturbing surrounding noises. A place where you can relax because that is an important factor for your session to be successful. Get yourself in a comfortable posture, so that you can stay like that for half an hour with no turning at all. Try sitting straight, with feet on floor, body at ease and your concentration focused on your body. Lying down can jeopardise your session with the tendency to fall asleep. Fix up the duration of the self hypnosis session. Deciding on your timing helps you to wake up at the end of it precisely, making your psyche stronger; take it as a mind exercise.

• Sit straight and try to physically focus on any small object. Try breathing deeply and relax your body and let go off any stress. After a few minutes in this manner you will realise that your eyelids are getting heavy and at one point you won’t be able to keep your eyes open, do not resist the feeling and keep breathing.

• After the previous stage is successfully attained you start relaxing your body from your toe and work your way upwards. Slacken your body to release all the tension. The more you relax the more you will feel your body sinking into the surface where
you are resting. You have to keep thinking that your body is relaxed.

• Then imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase and picture yourself slowly descending that staircase. The more you walk down the more you feel relaxed.

• Imagine this staircase leading you towards an oasis or some land of your dreams (basically a place you feel relaxed will work).
When once you have reached that place drink in that sight and describe it with one word. This will help you create a distressing point in your brain and whenever in the middle of any stress this will help you relax. It is often referred to as ‘your happy place’. Enjoy this as much as you want and when you feel contended get ready to wake up.

• Count backwards from five and slowly open your eyes. Spend a couple of minutes that way and get up slowly. You ca also write down your thought if you wish to.
